Position: Accounts Payable Clerk
Type: 6-month contract
Location: Markham, ON L3R 4G5
Start date: January 28th, 2019
Daily work hours: Flexible- 8-4, 8:30-4:30, 7-3pm, 10-6, etc.

Summary
Our client currently has an opening on their finance team for an individual to support accounts payable activities during the month and their accounting close process during month-end. In this role you will be a key member of the company’s global procure-to-pay business process improvement team and represent Canada.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform day-to-day accounts payable functions
  • Maintain collection goals and general Accounts Payable performance level
  • Follow up with vendors for payment issues
  • Liaise with other departments for issue resolution
  • File all matched and entered payables
  • Maintain contact with vendors on a regular basis to ensure accounts are up to date
  • Provide Accounts Payable information to other departments as required


Experience/Skills:

  • 3 plus years’ experience in transaction processing in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Sarbanes Oxley is an asset
  • Accounts Payable end-to-end experience -> invoice entry, purchase order matching, payment runs, oversight of HST/GST flows and accuracy and query management (Center of Excellence)
  • Experience with working with banking organizations (moving from cheque to ACH based payments)
  • System implementation experience is an asset as they are moving to Microsoft Dynamics 365 from Expandable
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Very good communication skills are mandatory for this role
  • Must be analytical, work well independently and have strong problem-solving skills (identify root cause and propose solutions)
